He is honored to be representing the Mangrove in the company of so many talented women from around the world who have gathered this week in Guatemala. While some of our female friends are sunning in Panama, the Mangrove hitched a ride on the Rainbow Gulf Stream jet and made the fastest qualifying time in their heat in Sochi, for…of course…Mangrove Bob’s favorite sport…Bob Sledding!!! Bob, Mark, Ray, Bjorn and Frank took a victory lap and then headed straight for the hot tub! Thanks Vladimir for the extra security. The ladies are keeping a keen eye on us! Now if we could only find a towel…

Mangrove members congregate in NYC after successful meetings at the United Nations General Assembly and the CGI. Much progress was made bringing the world together and that progress showed up in The Mangrove as well. The rather feminine hand in this photo tells the story…and the world thought that The Mangrove was a “boys club!” A much bigger mission that is inclusive of everyone.

Mangrove members in Washington DC get a behind the scenes tour of the repairs to the Washington Monument on Thursday afternoon. We have such respect for the repair team doing this heroic task after the earthquake damage and thanks for letting us pitch in and taking us to the top of such a beautiful piece of history.

The Mangrove sends sympathy and support to our friends in Colorado who’ve suffered so much in the recent flooding. Members Mark and Jared do some last minute brainstorming before meeting with President Obama to brief him on the situation in Boulder. One more reason that the Mangrove Global Climate Initiative is so important.

The Mangrove Special Environmental Committee will convene on Long Island on September 21st for first hand evaluation of the affects of the breach at Old Inlet. The above photograph was taken from The Mangrove helicopter after the storm. Special attention will be given to the oysters in the bay…and several rounds of martini’s to accompany them! We will solicit help from our sister organization as well.
